Beaufort is an organic vineyard and winery in the Comox Valley, BC. Our team in the vineyard, winery and tasting room is talented and passionate about our cool, coastal climate. We currently have 12.5 acres of vines planted, with plans for an additional 6 acres this spring. We are seeking a full time winemaker to continue to craft excellent wines and to help us grow from our current production of 2,500 cases to 5,000 cases in the next 5 years.

Job Description

• Lead and shape the future winemaking direction with a particular focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and sparkling wine production 

• Lead all stages of wine production, from harvest and crush through to bottling, in order to make high quality wines

• Assist with the planning of a new winery facility

• Involvement in vineyard work and canopy management throughout the growing season

• Provide support to the sales team, by helping to showcase Beaufort wines and attend various functions to sell and market our annual production

Required Skills

• A combination of education and experience with an emphasis on viticulture, oenology, and/or biochemistry

• Be a good communicator, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and good record keeping

• Understand the legislative landscape and standards that apply to organic winemaking

• Experience and knowledge of budgeting and resource management, and have a strong business sense
