Tasting Room Supervisor (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Key Functions: Tasting Room (TR) Lead

·         On-site Retail Store –grow tasting room traffic and sales. Agree sales target and work to exceed it.

·         Identify & Recommend - margin enhancing retail products opportunities (i.e. chocolate, etc.)

·         Business Development–develop and implement ideas and recommendations for exciting, brand-aligned, winery differentiating experiences.

·         Fan Club/Communication - develop and execute strategies to garner and utilize to achieve incremental sales while communicating regularly with Wine Club members and a growing list of BG friends.

·         TR Traffic Strategies – develop and implement ideas to target our key demographics, leveraging partnerships with accommodators, tour operators and other local business and regional associations to increase TR traffic and sales.

Key Functions: TR Staff

·         Hire and train- service/retail oriented staff for TR, tasting events and tour sales.

·         Develop an integrated, motivated, positive work environment– looking to develop a team of motivated staff who will drive TR sales. Position will set the standard for behaviour, dress and customer interaction.

·         Development – understand the story behind Blue Grouse and each of its wines, be able to effectively articulate that story to customers and staff. Train the staff so that we have an effective/consistent story to customers.

·         Timely completion administrative duties – schedule staffing, manage TR inventory, responsible for daily sales balances, opening and closing of TR.

·         Monitoring- ensure our service levels are aligned with our vision for hospitality. The position sets the standard.

Key Functions: Administration

·         Account for all onsite wine/retail inventory - on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as required.

·         Daily, weekly and monthly reporting –TR traffic, wine sales, retail product sales and reconciliations of the same.

·         Ongoing development/update of policies and procedures manuals

·         Manage bookings for tastings and tours and staff accordingly

Key Functions: Special Events

·         Work with Events Coordinator to manage and execute - all onsite culinary, wine-tasting and tour experiences
