Company: Petite Riviere Vineyards is a destination winery in the LaHave River Valley Wine Region on the south shore of Nova Scotia. Its winery location is idyllic, serene and located within 5-miles of three of the province’s most beautiful beaches. Petite Riviere relies on the quality and distinction of its terroir to produce fine wines which are uncomplicated and approachable. The wines are grown in the vineyard, not manufactured in the cellar. The unique features of the terroir, the rocky soil, the slate in the stone, the ocean breeze and the vineyard's micro climate each contribute to wines that are distinct within Nova Scotia.
Job Responsibilities:
Under the direction of Vineyard Management, we are looking for a Foreman - Crew Leader to join our team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Management and coordination of employee tasks based on crew location and schedule
• Lunch and break requirement scheduling according to company guidelines
• Procurement and preparation of daily required materials and/or tools
• Quality control of work functions performed at various locations and reporting findings to management
• Ensures operating, environmental and legal procedural standards are followed
• Assistance with loading and unloading of materials as needed at different locations
• May assist with minor repairs and preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Ability to anticipate and direct/assign duties as needed to meet harvest obligations and schedules
• May operate all equipment on the farm as needed.
• Onboarding of new employees with procedural training in work safety, processing techniques and sustainability measures
• Record keeping of employee hours after final sign off from Management
• Responsible for ensuring proper seasonal condition measures and controls are in place (i.e. frost control, etc)
• Cross-functional duties as required in our departments – assistance with bottling, cellar or vineyard.
• Compliant in safety operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard employee safety, company property, and environmental best practices
Postion Requirements:
• 2-5 years experience required
• High School Diploma
• Have a valid NS drivers license
• Good communication skills
• Good planning and organization skills
• Good writing skills
• Operate machinery
• Good troubleshooting skills
Other Requirements:

• Work in high places
• Work in warm/cold climate
• Climb stairs
• Mix chemicals
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. +
• Able to work weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts
