Averill Creek Vineyard is a 30-acre estate winery located in the heart of the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. We are excited to be seeking an Operations Manager as an addition to our growing team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about the wine industry, and who thrives in a dynamic environment. The chosen individual will have the intuitive ability to serve our guests, support our colleagues, and to devise and implement creative solutions. They will be eager to collaborate to progress the business, and are aligned with our vision of producing honest, world-class wines.  

Main Areas of Responsibility

1. Tasting Room & Direct-to-Consumer Operations
2. Management of the Tasting Room Team of 5-7 colleagues 
3. Winery Production Administration  
4. Event Planning & Coordination

Minimum Qualifications

·         2+ Years of Team Management

·         3+ Years of Hospitality & Customer Service Experience

·         An interest in Wine, with relevant knowledge (WSET Level II or Equivalent)

·         Post-Secondary Education

·         1+ Years Event Coordination Experience

·         Competent with computers, and POS

·         Ability to remain organized, composed and accountable in a fast-paced environment

·         Available to work weekends and holidays

·         Serving-it-Right Certified; and the ability to lift 40 lbs

Additional Assets 

·         Previous Winery Experience

·         WSET III or Equivalent

·         Experience with Squarespace or other Web Management platform
