Pacific Wine & Spirits, one of Western Canada’s fastest growing beverage alcohol agencies, seeks an energetic, proactive and hard-working person to join a team of similarly passionate wine & spirits professionals as a Territory Manager servicing a large number of accounts in Edmonton and surrounding areas.
To succeed in this full-time position, the successful applicant requires imagination, creativity, tenacity, attention to detail and a positive attitude. The successful candidate requires a personality built for sales: competitive yet professional in nature, a self-starter, driven by achieving professional goals.
This person will have the opportunity to offer an outstanding portfolio of wine and spirits from some of the world’s most esteemed family-owned and operated wine estates and distilleries. Reporting to the Alberta Sales Manager, they will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with account managers and their staff. Sales and distribution within set territory will be accountable to monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
Successful candidate will be responsible for meeting and exceeding assigned targets and goals set by Management. This will be achieved by the following:
- Developing a keen understanding of the Pacific Wine & Spirits portfolio of wines and spirits
- Servicing a full range of accounts located in set territory on a frequent basis and fostering relationships with owners and managers
- Obtaining and maintaining product distribution in set territory, distributing marketing materials, gaining floor stacks, achieving product placement in key retail advertisements, and improving product shelf placements
- Achieving on premise placements of products by the glass, by the bottle and back bars as assigned
- Conducting staff training for key accounts
- Participating in industry and consumer tastings (some evenings and weekends)
The successful candidate will show or have the following skills and experience:
- Has spent three or more years working as a Sales Representative in a driven industry
- Has familiarity with wine and spirits, styles, regions of the world, food pairings, with a strong desire to learn
- Is motivated to succeed in both an independent and team environment
- Has succeeded in building sales-based client relationships
- Has a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
- Has a strong track record of meeting targets, setting goals and exceeding expectations
- Has a strong understanding of computers, within Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Working understanding and proficient on social media platforms
- Has full‐time access to a reliable vehicle and a valid and unimpeded AB Driver’s License
- Has a valid and unimpeded Canadian Passport and can travel on short notice within Western Canada and internationally
- Is physically fit and can lift and carry more than 40 lbs on a regular basis
- A wine and spirit education such as WSET or ISG to Level 3 or greater is considered an asset
- Expertise and interest in premium spirits required
- A University level degree is considered an asset
