Job Summary

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Account Manager will be responsible for achieving sales goals, market share and profitability for the account customer through managing customer relationships and growing the portfolio by broadening account penetration and identifying new opportunities.  Responsibilities will also include managing and executing our provincial sales strategy with a group of customers within an assigned territory.   The successful candidate will need to grow our portfolio sales at all points of sale to deliver profit and revenue objectives through planning and execution of retail sales programs while building and maintaining professional relationships with customers and colleagues. 

Key Responsibility

  • Working closely with the Customer Solutions team to design, develop and champion the strategy and execution of the sales plan in Newfoundland & Labrador to achieve the required profit and revenue objectives.
  • Present, negotiate and ensure the integration of corporate strategies (new product launch, promos, retail prices, distribution, etc.) to secure the achievement of established corporate objectives.  Initiate and coordinate customized programs.
  • Prepare, recommend, forecast and evaluate the promo plan and ensure optimization of the return on investment while tracking and staying within the promo budget.
  • Active participation in internal planning sessions to ensure the needs of Newfoundland and Labrador are being met.
  • Build and maintain effective communication and relationships with internal and external customers to ensure ongoing and increased market growth of Arterra Wines Canada products.
  • Manage territory to maximize coverage in order to achieve objectives/targets per visit, service current products, secure distribution of existing and new products & expand the sale of Arterra products at NLC/NLC Express retail stores and licensees in a predetermined territory.
  • Ensure all customers; maintain current thematic, execute customize floor promotion, promotional activities and displays, introduce new product, increase our product distribution, all elements included in contracts with chains, etc. Plan and set priorities for each customer visit in order to achieve organizational goals.
  • Negotiate display space within stores and inventory levels
  • Execute store audits to ensure all promo activities are being executed as planned
  • Ensure proper management of all paperwork and reports as required
  • Communicate any facts and situations within territory that could impact Arterra’s business to the Sales Director

Requirements:

  • University degree
  • 2-5 years in Key Account or Account Management
  • Experience in Beverage Alcohol or Consumer Package Goods (preferred)
  • Has connection / experience with key customers (preferred)
  • Existing skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office with ability to learn to use internal software and technology (iPad/iPhone, CRM platform, scan data tools, etc).
  • Physically capable of lifting cases of approximately 20KG repeatedly
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ideal candidate will be based in St. John’s, Newfoundland
  • Able to spend time traveling within territory (overnight trips required)
  • Wine knowledge/education a plus but not required
