We seek a proactive person to join our team in the position of BC Merchandiser & Event Coordinator, servicing the Greater Vancouver area. This position will support the British Columbia team and report to the BC Sales Manager.

Pacific Wine & Spirits does not have an office in Greater Vancouver; therefore, this position requires great autonomy from a home-based office. There is opportunity to self manage your workload while supporting a positive work/life balance. This job offers some flexibility in schedule and will require some evening and weekend work for events and supplier visits, many of which are planned in advance.
Requirements for this position:
· Support the team with event planning and execution including venue sourcing, collateral, supplies, set up, tear down, and other tasks as required.
· Merchandising and maintenance at retail stores on a daily basis, including filling shelves, building displays, applying POS, shelf talkers, on-packs, neck-tags, checking price tag accuracy, pricing audits, vintage checks, faulty product, etc.
· Update imagery & product descriptions on retailers’ websites.
· Speaking about our products at various tradeshows, festivals, in-store tastings to trade, consumers and media.
· Sourcing & distributing product samples from market for upcoming events, supplier visits, presentations, media drops etc.
· Receiving & shipping samples from/to other teammates as required.
· Training retail and on-premise trade on our products.
· Conduct in-store tastings.
· Maintain the company’s storage facility.
· Interact with the company’s social media platforms for BC.
· There may be travel outside the Greater Vancouver area, sometimes for multiple nights, to assist with events, trade shows, festivals, etc. Related expenses will be reimbursed.
· Be comfortable conducting business in written and spoken English.
· Proficient at software programs such Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook.
· This job requires moving equipment, supplies and regularly lifting up to 18 kg/40 lbs.
· Full‐time access to a reliable vehicle and a valid and unimpeded B.C. Driver’s License, for daily use across the Lower Mainland.
· Home office set up with the ability to receive shipments at your residence.
· Valid and unimpeded passport.
· “Serving It Right” Certification.
Assets for this position:
· Experience working in the wine & spirits industry, including retail and/or hospitality, or experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry.
· Post secondary education.
· Wine & spirits education.
· Second language.
· Experience managing an expense account.
· Comfortable adapting to changing market conditions.
Now in its 50th year in Western Canada, Pacific Wine & Spirits is a privately owned and operated agency, emphasizing the values of caring, diversity, respect, integrity, authenticity and teamwork. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, vehicle and office allowances. The annual salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000.
