Position Summary


The Atlantic Canada Logistics Analyst (ACLA) is responsible for managing the various components of product categories as deemed by the four Atlantic Liquor Jurisdictions.  In doing such, the ACLA works in close in collaboration with both Suppliers and Provincial Managers ensuring that best practices are adhered to when submitting product applications for the numerous category call outs during the year.  The ACLA is responsible for managing in cooperation with Suppliers yearly price changes.  Price changes are submitted based on analysis that maximizes total top line sales and profits. Position is strongly deadline driven.



Job Functions


Essential Responsibilities


·       Managing Category Calls while ensuring specific category criteria’s are met.  This would include Country of Origins, specific regions, grape varietals, retail vs case costs etc.

·       Ensure all deadlines are met.

·       Work closely with supplier to ensure commissions, a/p and over and above marketing launch monies are supported by Supplier for the call outs and new listings. 

·       Work closely with Suppliers ensuring fair options are offered to each for provincial call outs, based on individual provincial requirements.

·       Responsible for creating new products in the Cellar while paying close attention to case cost, currency bottles per case etc.

·       Responsible for accurately keying purchase orders into The Oder Management data base system.

·       Support suppliers and Provincial Managers in their role as steward of the category advisory team.

·       Conducts research and makes recommendations regarding pricing policies.

·       Gathers historical pricing data for suppliers and competitors.

·       Possess full understanding of the current sales trends and offer information to Suppliers.

·       Develop category forecasts for all category calls.

·       Work with Provincial Management to ensure precise volumes are agreed to.

·       Strive to list products that will help drive sales & profits for Charton Hobbs, Atlantic Liquor Boards and Suppliers.

·       Help target products that will have a positive effect on Categories while guiding the fullest potential for category calls.

·       Ensure optimum pricing to maximize sales and profit within the category while projecting the right price image to consumers.

·       Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the organization maximizes all available business opportunities.

·       Maintain knowledge of the retail environment/industry.

·       Maintain knowledge of all beverage alcohol categories.



Secondary Responsibilities


·       ACLA is responsible for responding to any e-mails pertaining to purchase orders or brand specific inquiries by either suppliers or Atlantic Liquor Jurisdictions.

·       Work collaboratively with various levels of staff within Charton Hobbs, Suppliers and Industry Corporations.

·       Demonstrate commitment to the Charton Hobbs mandates.


Job Requirements


·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint) and able to master a working knowledge of the CH internal data systems and other reporting tools.

·       Must function cooperatively and effectively within a team environment.

·       Demonstrate ability to multitask, set priorities, and manage tight deadlines.

·       Have a professional and positive attitude.

·       Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Interest in the wine and spirit industry is a plus.
