Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards is an estate winery located in the rapidly growing wine region of Lake Erie North Shore. We are 8 years old and expanding in all areas of our business due to our exceptional wines and customer centric staff. We are focused on making high quality and market friendly wines from red and white vinifera planted at our estate vineyard. The vineyard and winery are both well-equipped.
We are seeking a full time HARVEST WINEMAKER to join the production team. The position will be integral to the day-to-day operations of the winery and will perform a wide range of tasks. The position may lead to full-time employment including being part of the management team with responsibilities increasing over time.
The majority of work will include – processing and pressing fruit, driving fork-lifts, racking and transfers of juice and wine, cap management, barrel management, managing juice and wine additions, filtering, lab analysis, data entry and general maintenance of the cooperage, winery and equipment. Customer interaction is also part of this role.
The ideal candidate will have a good level of fitness and, most importantly, a demonstratable interest in the entire wine making process. You need to be willing and hardworking and not afraid to get dirty or wet – both guaranteed!
Job Requirements:

Previous winery experience, 1yr minimum.

Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail and great communication skills.

Capable of sensory assessment of juice and wine.

Must be hands-on, dependable, self-starting and possess good problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of safe cellar practices, including the safe handling of chemicals.

Teamwork and customer service skills.

Ability to work extended hours, including late nights and weekends

Drivers license.

Ability to lift 55 lbs.
Preference will be given to candidates with education in viticulture/oenology. Compensation is commensurate with experience. You must be legally able to work in Canada. We can help with finding accommodation if you are new to the area.
