Job Description:
The ‘clos,’ or enclosed vineyard, of Le Clos Jordanne is a micro-climate on the Jordan Bench in Niagara, surrounded and sheltered by Carolinian forests and their glacial ravines, and sits on limestone-laced silt and clay soils which bring intensely-focused fruit, minerality and age-ability to the wines we produce there.
In this role you will be responsible for working on the Le Clos Jordanne and Jackson-Triggs Grand reserve and Entourage brands.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing all cellar related activities as part of the winemaking process and vintage. This is a very hands on role where you may be involved in fruit receival, hand sorting, pump overs/punch downs, fermentation monitoring, pressing, barrel work, winery sanitation, bottling and disgorging, as well as other winery related jobs. There are also opportunities to learn centrifuging, crossflowing, RDV’ing and different fermentation techniques. This role is a Full-Time Seasonal Position.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate all cellar equipment by adhering to all Health and Safety guidelines and lockouts as required
- Accurately weigh ingredients and make additions to wines.
- Fruit receival, Hand sorting, pump overs/punch downs, fermentation monitoring, pressing, barrel work, winery sanitation, bottling and disgorging,
- Assist other positions as required to maintain continuous production
- Communicate relevant information to winemakers and to the cross shift
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
