It is an exciting time at Flat Rock Cellars! We’re revamping our hospitality infrastructure over the next several years and this person will play a key role in developing Flat Rock into Ontario’s destination winery. The successful candidate will be tasked with elevating the winery experience and offerings, both onsite and online, taking Flat Rock to the next level. This person will manage and lead a team of Rockstars and will be responsible for driving revenue and profitability through the cellar door. Additionally, this person will be a whiz with words as the author of our direct-to-consumer email program. This role leads their own team, works collaboratively with other departments and reports to the Business Development Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
Retail
- Lead your team by example. This is a hands-on role, not just administrative. Consistently provide exceptional customer service and memorable hospitality to all visitors while inspiring your team of Rockstars to do the same.
- Build your Rockstar team and nurture a culture of excellence (and fun!). Hire, train and manage your team based on seasonal requirements (schedules, staff training, performance reviews, etc).
- Accurately manage and report on profitability, inventory, sales and promotions.
- Develop the non-wine revenue stream to enhance the product offering in retail and increase profitability (clothing, merchandise).
- Manage, analyze and continue to grow Farmers Market presence.
- Develop partnerships with local SME’s (tour companies, hotels, restaurants, etc.) to expand Flat Rock’s presence across the province.
- Ensure the interior and exterior of the retail space is clean, stocked, and always presentable (i.e. arranging for snow removal, gardens, grass cutting, etc.)
- Execute onsite and offsite events that provide an exceptional customer experience and creates future demand for events.
- Implement concierge program. Create excellent service standards for pre, post and during customer journey.
Experiential Development
- Develop and elevate the entire visitor experience. This begins before the guests arrive at the winery and after they leave (Phone calls, reminder emails, thank you emails, etc.).
- Elevate our portfolio of visitor experience options. Create experiences in a variety of price points, themes, spaces, etc.
- Tasting room and patio development. Work closely with design team on layouts, décor purchasing, etc.…
Wine Club/Direct-to-Consumer
- You are the face of our awesome Club on the Rock!
- Manage the maintenance and organization of all new, active, updated and on hold membership profiles using Commerce7 software.
- Be the first point of contact via email, phone or in person for all Members including the response and resolution of customer issues/inquiries
- Responsible for executing the full wine club cycle from planning programming, wines and events to collecting and processing order through Commerce7 as well as coordinating the packing, shipping and delivery.
- Growing the membership value and volume will be a key performance indicator.
- Schedule and write all wine literature and event communications for our online database, email program and wine club.
