Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Retail Supervisor to manage our wine shop and hospitality operations.
This is a full-time, year-round position working Thursday to Monday.
The successful candidate will oversee both retail and tasting room operations (indoor and outdoor), ensuring that our team is providing exceptional hospitality to our guests. Your excellent general wine knowledge, outstanding customer service, ability to lead by example and think on your feet will make you a terrific ambassador for the Sue-Ann Staff brand. You will also further curate our retail offerings, building relationships with tour companies and other providers.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Operations
Retail operations including opening/closing duties, managing shop space to ensure stock levels, safety and cleanliness standards are in place, and retail administration (POS system, staff schedules, reservations, etc).
Wine Sales & Hospitality
Achieving positive sales results by providing excellent customer service and guest experiences, sharing key winery messaging with guests, and promoting our wine clubs, winery events, and other sales channels. You may also assist with the packing and distribution of online and other orders.
Leadership
Leading by example is key to this position. As the supervisor, you’ll set a strong example for authentic, friendly, efficient customer service, share your wine knowledge with team members and guests, and foster a positive team environment.
Candidate requirements:
Strong wine knowledge (WSET 1, 2 or 3 preferred)
At least four years supervisory experience in hospitality/retail setting
Smart Serve certification
Compensation based on experience. Hourly pay plus tip pool
