Lakeboat Vineyard & Winery is currently seeking a hardworking assistant to work in the vineyard and in the cellar. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills and nurture your passion for viticulture and enology. As Assistant Winemaker / Viticulturalist, you will impact the premium quality of our wines, starting in the vineyard with weeding, thinning, canopy management and harvest. You will continue with the processing of the grapes by pressing, destemming, pump overs, punch downs, fermentation monitoring, barrel work, forklift operation and more. Lakeboat offers a taste of everything for the winegrowing enthusiast.

Requirements:
- Laboratory testing during harvest and throughout the year
- Perform day-to-day tasks in the cellar from harvest to bottling
- Previous vineyard and cellar experience or viticulture / oenology education an asset
- Ability to perform the physical demands of vineyard and cellar work such as bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders
- Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Collaborate to create and implement a WorkSafe procedure program
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to work under pressure in an efficient and safe manner
- Willingness to work long hours during harvest
- Create and maintain up-to-date wine records
- Equally comfortable working independently and on a team
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Provide help, when required, for on-site and off-site events
- Ongoing quality control including sensory analysis to ensure wine’s health
- Actively opportunities for improvement of the cellar and winemaking operations, consulting with Winemaker accordingly
- Scheduling shipments, packing, loading and unloading as required
- Monthly inventory of bulk and bottled wine as well as other supplies
- Perform other duties as directed by Winemaker / Vineyard Manager
$52,000 - $56,000 / year, adjusted to inflation annually
