A hidden gem in the heart of BC’s exciting new Thompson Valley wine region, Privato is a family-owned winery dedicated to the production of traditional Burgundian and Bordeaux-styled wine. Woodward Cider Co is a rapidly growing craft cider company owned by the 3 Woodward brothers.

Role:

The Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and increasing brand awareness for Privato Winery and Woodward Cider Co through online channels as well as our on-site tasting room. This role will require a strong understanding of e-commerce, customer acquisition, and online marketing, as well as a passion for wine and cider. The DTC Sales Manager will work closely with the marketing, operations, and tasting room teams to ensure a seamless and successful customer experience.

The candidate must be versatile, flexible, accountable, and have an enthusiastic demeanor. As a member of our small team, you’ll have the opportunity to wear many hats and have a willingness to “pitch in” in a constantly changing environment to ensure we reach our goal of becoming everyone’s favorite family winery and cidery. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and motivate your team, focusing on team development and satisfaction and a memorable hospitality experience.
  • Ensure our company values are promoted and portrayed in everything we do
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive DTC sales strategy to drive revenue and customer acquisition for both Privato Winery and Woodward Cider Co
  • Analyze and report on key performance metrics such as website traffic, conversion rates, and customer lifetime value for both brands
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective online marketing campaigns to drive traffic and sales for both brands
  • Work with the product/operations team to identify new product opportunities and ensure successful product launches for both brands
  • Manage and optimize the DTC sales funnel to improve customer acquisition and retention for both brands
  • Manage our wine and cider clubs. You are the face of our wine and cider club and therefore you will ensure exceptionally professional customer service is provided to all current and future members
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in DTC sales and e-commerce for both the wine and cider industries
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Privato Winery and Woodward Cider Co product offerings and be able to effectively communicate and sell to customers
  • Lead and manage the hospitality manager who is responsible for our on-site guest experience. Work closely with the hospitality manager to improve our offering and guest experience
  • Conceptualize and develop events, ensuring exceptional customer experience and future demand for events.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Post-Secondary education in business, marketing, Tourism, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in DTC sales and e-commerce
  • Strong understanding of online marketing and customer acquisition
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Google Analytics
  • You pride yourself on maintaining clean and organized data and can competently use the tools provided. You have excellent core computer skills (MS Office Suite) and basic graphic design
  • Ability to quickly master new e-commerce tools, or solid competency using industry standards (WineDirect), Mailchimp, Tock Reservation
  • Formal wine training and Food Safe Certificate would be an asset
  • Passion for wine and cider and a strong understanding of the industry
