Good news, we are growing and have openings on our team! We our Kelowna’s premier organic destination cidery offering a one-of-a-kind experience (Best of Kelowna winner twice!). We produce killer cider varieties sold through our tasting room and off premise accounts and are surrounded by our stunning organic orchard. The cidery is located just minutes from the Airport in beautiful Kelowna BC. The company culture focuses on a fun, lively, and fast paced environment. We are conscientious, authentic and most importantly we our passionate about sustainability and producing award winning cider.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growing cidery and work with a dynamic and passionate team. This position reports to the cider maker/Stakeholder and will provide an opportunity to support in all aspects of cider making and Operations.
Duties of this position will include but not be limited to:
- Performing cellar activities such as racking, yeast pitches, blending, filtration, bottling and packaging (Involved in all aspects of making our Cider)
- High level involvement in pressing operations.
- Perform CIP’s
- Must be able to follow and aid in developing standard operating procedures (SOPS)
- Must maintain quality assurance and quality control throughout the cider making process.
- Always maintain the cellar to the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Assist with the cellar maintenance program. This includes maintaining all equipment associated with cider production and utilizing and continually updating a maintenance log.
- Assist with the cellar health and safety program.
- Willingness to participate in events or responsibilities to promote the ciders or the company when cellar is not requiring his/her presence
- During peak times aid in front of house support (filling growlers, pouring pints, flights etc) Inventory rotation (FIFO) and volume tracking
Requirements and Qualifications
- Strong Preference to those who have minimum 2 years cider/wine/brewing experience or formal education.
- Minimum class 5 driver’s license and transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends, when necessary, particularly during harvest.
- Able to lift 45 pounds, work in inclement weather, at heights, within confined spaces, and work on their feet for long periods of time in physically demanding conditions.
- Preference to those with fork lift experience (propane) and Tractor skills.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
