Our client is a well- recognized player in the Canadian wine industry with several highly regarded wineries in the Okanagan. They are seeking an ESTATE MANAGER. In this role you will be responsible for delivering exceptional on-site experiences and driving successful sales and marketing initiatives to grow revenues at the winery. You will ensure all activities support the brand, HR, quality, and financial benchmarks. As well, you will provide visible leadership to employees, and represents the winery to the media, trade and internally with professionalism.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INVOLVE:
Ø Planning and Performance - Responsible for the development of the annual winery business plan
Ø Guest Satisfaction – Develops, communicates and implements standards of service that ensure consistent delivery of a remarkable hospitality experience for all winery visitors.
Ø Human Resource Management - Responsible for managing the recruitment, hiring, training, coaching and motivation of all employees within the context of the brand strategy
Ø Sales and Marketing – Develop and execute sales plans to lead group and event business; develop and execute marketing plans to drive Winery awareness and visitation.
Ø Wine Club & DTC – Support the growth of a wine club through managing on-site acquisition strategies and member engagement.
Ø Industry Relations - Makes industry relations a priority and takes a visible leadership role in building and promoting a strong business environment for winery tourism.
Ø Communication/Organization - Attends company and industry meetings on behalf of the winery and ensures all relevant information is communicated and acted upon. Makes staff communication a priority, using voice mail, written communication and scheduled meetings as appropriate.
Ø Administration - Responsible for accounting control and ensuring that all reports are submitted on a timely basis.
Ø Safety, Security and Cleanliness – Ensures the workplace is well maintained and safe at all times for employees and guests.
YOUR BACKGROUND IDEALLY INVOLVES:
Ø College/University graduate (preferably from a Business program).
Ø 3 years proven experience in Managing and growing a tourism/hospitality business.
Ø Graduate of or current enrolment in an internationally recognized wine program is a definite asset.
