2021 Harvest Cellarhand

Summerhill Pyramid Winery is a 30,000+ case Organic winery producing sparkling, white, red, Late Harvest and Icewine located in Kelowna, BC. 

We are looking for a “corky” experienced Cellarhand to join our 2021 Crush Crew! Harvest is the most exciting time of the year for production staff with fast passed work and lots of opportunities to learn a wide variety of skills from knowledgeable and passionate team members. Join the organic revolution!

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

-          Receive fruit, operate crusher/de-stemmer, must pump, press

-          Clean and sanitize presses, tanks, hoses, pumps and other equipment

-          Rackings, transfers, blending

-          Inoculation

-          Additions to fermenting wine

-          Pump overs/punch downs of fermenting reds

-          Barrel work including filling, topping and cleaning

-          Bottling and disgorging occasionally

Requirements:

-          Positive attitude and ability to work in a team

-          Ability to meet physical demands of position including lifting up to 50lbs, standing for long periods of time, working outside in varying weather conditions, comfortable with heights and confined spaces.

-          Punctual and ability to get oneself to work.

-          Must find own accommodations.

-          Must be able to work long and flexible hours.

-          Must be legally permitted to work in Canada- No LIMA will be undertaken

Can be an asset:

-          Forklift experience

-          Confined space training

-          OSHA approved First Aid any level

-          Lab experience

-          Formal wine education

-          Organic winemaking experience

-          Able to work nights
