Tantalus Vineyards is situated in South East Kelowna on British Columbia’s oldest continuously producing vineyard. Originally known as Pioneer Vineyards, the site was first planted to table grapes in 1927. Today, 1978 plantings of Riesling and 1985 plantings of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay make up the backbone of our 75-acre estate. Responsibilities
As Hospitality Manager you will partner with the General Manager and Winemaker, hospitality team and production team to lead, develop and execute memorable visitor experiences. You will be responsible for training and leading our hospitality team, creating and executing an amazing and educational winery experience for all guests of the winery. As the Hospitality Manager, you will lead our team members in creating excellence in guest experience at Tantalus Vineyards.
Teamwork / Leadership
* Lead, coach, and motivate your team, focusing on team development and satisfaction and a memorable hospitality experience.
* Create and maintain an inclusive team environment using a continuous improvement, innovation, and satisfaction approach. Inspire a high level of teamwork and professionalism through personal presence, excellent customer service, and support.
* Mentor, coach, educate, and motivate the team so they can achieve their potential through regular communication and training.
Guest Experience
* Continue to develop our winery guest experience that provides an inclusive environment and inspires guests to become long-term customers.
* Develop long-term relationships with our guests to foster customer loyalty and community building.
* Execute a high level of guest service in our reservation only, curated sitdown tasting environment by empowering the team to exceed guest expectations.
Operations
* Schedule team hours, control labour costs and operating expenses to optimize your team’s success.
* Design, develop, budget, and execute various customer experiences and events throughout the season.
* Collaborate with the sales manager to drive wine club and DTC growth.
* Manage inventory and replenishment of wine, packaging materials, and sundry items in the tasting room.
The Other Requirments
* 3+ years supervisory/management experience in Hospitality, Restaurant, or Retail environment.
* Proven track record of leading and developing service orientated teams who provide guest experiences.
* Passion for wine is a must; wine education (WSET 3 or higher) is a major advantage.
* Excellent communicator, both verbal and written with experience in training/presenting to teams or groups.
* Positive attitude with a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively.
* Ability to mentor and set goals to achieve exceptional team results.
* Flexible schedule, ability to work weekends is required.
* Valid Serving It Right Certificate.
* Ability to lift cases of wine (up to 40lbs) multiple times during a workday.
* Shopify or POS experience is an asset.
