 We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail and Experience Manager to join our extraordinary Sandhill Team!

Reporting into the Estate Manager, as the Retail and Experience Manageroversees retail and hospitality operations at Sandhill winery. They are responsible for supervising and coaching the retail team to deliver customer experiences that drive our brand building expectations and revenue goals.

We are looking for a teammate with:

  • Post-secondary education in hospitality or business administration.
  • 2-5 years Retail Management experience.
  • Wine knowledge an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; with a focus on Word and Excel.
  • Proven people leadership, coaching, listening, communication, supervision, teamwork, and organizational skills.

This teammate will be accountable for:

  • General Management Plans, organizes, directs and controls effective operation of the store and wine tasting experiences by focusing on sales, merchandising, customer service, inventory control, cash reconciliation and administration.
  • Human Resource Management Responsible for recruiting, training, motivating, evaluating and developing the retail and hospitality team. Schedules staff and assigns responsibilities and tasks as appropriate.
  • Communication Makes ongoing communication a priority to retail staff about store policies, functions, events and promotions in the store. Encourages open communication channels between self and staff. Conducts staff meetings as well as attends meetings on behalf of the store.
  • Sales and Merchandising Executes sales and merchandising plans that support brand building and financial objectives. Oversees the merchandising of all products in the store. 
  • Financial Performance/Inventory Management Responsible for adherence to labour budgets, controls store inventory ensuring appropriate inventory levels and accurate tracking, manages inventory reports. Oversees inventory counts and completes month end reports and paperwork.
  • Wine club(s) Ensure the winery is meeting established wine club sales targets thru promotion and sign-up's by retail staff; ensure retail staff fulfill wine club orders.
  • Planning Responsible for the development of internal sales and merchandising plans to achieve financial, educational and brand building objectives. Responsible for the planning and execution of in-store and off-site pouring events that build awareness & drive traffic to the winery. Supports corporate/sales events by scheduling staff and ordering wine.
  • Safety, Security and Cleanliness Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of the boutique at all times. Ensures that proper opening and closing procedures are followed and that staff practice safe working methods.
