Tantalus Vineyards is situated on the eastern slopes of the Okanagan Valley and is committed to producing authentic, terroir-driven wines with a focus on Riesling, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
We are on the search for a passionate and personable individual to step into the role of Tasting Room Manager to lead our front of house and private sales operations. This is a full-time, seasonal position that would run from mid-March to the end of December.
Duties include:
1. Supervising and performing hospitality duties including greeting guests, providing tastings and wine education to visitors, and mentoring staff to deliver a high level of service to our guests
2. Managing the hiring, orientation, training, development and supervision of all tasting room associates
3. Handling the scheduling of the tasting room team
4. Day-to-day management of point of sale operations, updating of POS software and retail inventory
5. Day-to-day management and fulfillment of our private and wine club sales, utilizing Shopify and Bloom online platforms (training provided)
6. Managing tour operator visits, vineyard/winery tours and VIP visitors and groups
7. Assisting with events where applicable and liaising with our event coordinator to ensure seamless transitions from day-to-day operations to events
8. Assisting with the coordination and preparation of our industry guest accommodation
The ideal applicant will have extensive wine knowledge and a passion for wine! Wine education (WSET or ISG) is preferred and previous experience in retail management/supervision is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office essential.
Applicants must be 19 years of age or older and have their Serving It Right Certificate. Please note, any potential candidates must also be able to lift up to 40 lbs and be able to work all applicable holidays.
