Kitsch Wines (www.kitschwines.ca) is an East Kelowna producer with a bright future. Established in 2015, we are looking for an energetic and thoughtful Vineyard Manager to contribute their notes to the song of Kitsch Wines as we double our canopy. This is a leadership-by-example position that requires a team player - someone who enjoys hands-on work in the vineyard and also management of people, equipment, and budget for 13 acres of 6-year old Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris vines plus 12 acres of Pinot Noir vines being planted spring 2020. The ideal candidate will have experience and a positive attitude that fits well with our small and dynamic team - consideration may be given to hire a Vineyard Foreman who is ready to grow to Vineyard Manager. Qualifications include:
· Degree in Viticulture
· At least 4-5 years of experience in viticulture
· Proficient in tractor, spraying and forklift operation
· Track record with managing a team
· Experience with Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program and/or ability to communicate in Spanish an asset
· Experience with organic, biodynamic practices an asset
Responsibilities include:
· Leading and conducting all vineyard operations throughout the year
· Optimizing vineyard performance alongside winemaker and consultants
· Managing seasonal vineyard team including Seasonal Agricultural Workers
· Creating, executing and managing vineyard budget
· Maintaining meticulous records (Excel, Google Sheets, physical)
· Lead health and safety initiatives in the vineyard
· Equipment maintenance
· Represent Kitsch at industry and educational events
