Located in the beautiful Similkameen Valley, Corcelettes Winery offers an exciting position for someone with a passion for everything wine and who enjoys a variety of responsibilities. As a premium, boutique winery with 25 planted acres and more in development, it’s an exciting time to be part of our skilled and passionate team.
This position will require skill and experience in operating equipment.
WINERY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include (but not be limited to):
· Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, hoses and pumps
· Maintenance of appropriate cellar records and basic wine analysis
· Topping barrels monthly
· Supply management and forecasting
· Inoculations, additions, fermentation / cap management and transfers of product between tanks
· Reporting of all bulk and packaged wine inventory
· Operating and regular maintenance of all crush pad equipment
· Assembling and wrapping pallets for shipping
· Loading and unloading delivery trucks
· Maintaining facility cleanliness in all production, packaging and warehouse areas
VINEYARD RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performing vineyard tractor work as directed by vineyard manager – mowing, spraying, hedging, pre-pruning etc
· Maintenance of tractors, sprayers, mowers, shop tools and buildings and other mechanical equipment
· Assisting vineyard crew with seasonal tasks as required, including pruning, tucking, thinning, harvesting, wire lifting, etc.
· Cellar work during peak harvest time
REQUIREMENTS:
· Be hands on and able to work in a dynamic fast paced team environment
· Manage and organize his/her time according to the direction given by management
· Show a high degree of organization skills and attention to detail
· Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Demonstrate a team spirit while being able to work on their own
· Respect the hygiene and safety procedures
· Full driver’s license and clean driving record
· Must be a Canadian Citizen – or – have residency status
· Forklift experience
· Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel and comfortable with working on a computer
· Must meet physical demands including: standing for long periods of time, navigating stairs, working in various weather conditions, lifting up to 20 kg, working at heights
· Viticulture Certificate or enology diploma stong asset or 5 years experience in the industry
