O’Rourke Family Vineyards is growing its team and has an exciting opportunity to join us as a Vineyard Supervisor. Located in Lake Country B.C we have three vineyards containing a range of aromatic white varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The primary responsibilities of the Vineyard Supervisor are assisting in the day to day management of vineyard operations to ensure production is of the highest quality and in the most economic manner. You will report directly and work closely with the Vineyard Manager to supervise a team of viticulture professionals while safely and effectively operating a range of vineyard equipment including tractors, mowers, hedgers and fungicide/herbicide sprayers. You will be required to maintain competence in key vineyard operations/management functions, and ensure all goals are achieved within required budgets whilst promoting and ensuring compliance with HR Policies, Procedures and company guidelines.
Job Requirements:
· 3-5 years of hands-on Vineyard experience
· Prior management experience in a vineyard beneficial
· Pesticide Applicators Certificate
· First Aid Certificate
· Familiarity working in a cross-cultural environment
· Competency in safe operation of vineyard equipment, pruning canopy management, disease/pest control, harvesting and irrigation management
· Effective communication and problem-solving skills
· Working knowledge of Word/Excel Post-secondary education in Viticulture or Horticulture an asset
· A team player
