Lower Mainland Sales Representative: Retail & On-premises
Charton Hobbs Inc. is a well established, family owned national wine and spirits sales and marketing agency selling prestigious brands such as Moet Hennessy, Batasiolo, Perrin, Banfi and many other premium brands. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to represent our brands in the communities surrounding Vancouver – south of the Fraser River (Richmond, Delta, White Rock, Surrey) & Burnaby, New Westminster accounts.
Calling regularly on the majority of retail accounts and important on-premises accounts, the primary role of this position is to increase the market share of Charton Hobbs’ portfolio. The successful candidate must have an excellent track record as a career salesperson. Product knowledge and enthusiasm for retail account management is a must. Restaurant/wine/food experience and special event planning experience also a plus. This position would also benefit from someone who also has behind-the-scenes industry knowledge of retail account operations. Additional responsibilities include organizing and creating displays, tastings, and account support functions. In addition, attendance at trade events (evenings and weekends may be required). This is one of the most dynamic and competitive liquor sales territories in the country – equally this position offers an opportunity to work an outstanding premium portfolio with a large number of retail accounts and targeted on-premises accounts.
Potential candidates must have completed basic wine education/appreciation courses; have a passion for wine and spirits, and the ability to hold a valid passport and driver’s license for business related travel. Candidates must have industry experience and are:
- Skilled at closing the sale.
- Effective at oral and written communication skills.
- Capable of professional presentations and have recognized ability for persuasive sales.
- Leaders in the wine/spirits retail business and have the ability to influence major accounts.
- Able to analyze statistics for targeting sales.
- Able to set and execute high standards of performance.
- Capable of advanced organization and planning skills and have the ability to respect tight schedules.
- University/college trained with a Bachelor Degree or have related business experience.
