METRO LIQUOR – REGINA STORE MANAGER

 

 

Overview:

 

 

The Store Manager will communicate the strategic direction for the store and lead and manage all facets

 

of store operations. This includes ordering, administration, managing profitability, head office reporting,

 

merchandising/stocking, inventory control, staffing, promotions and advertising, customer service and

 

regulatory compliance/social responsibility. The Store Manager will coach and develop the store team,

 

leading by example, to provide customer ‘delight’. This is a hands-on position requiring a balance of retail

 

floor activities, office work and close communication with warehousing and retail operations.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

 

Profitability

 

 

 

 

• Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit in all day-to-day activities and functions

 

• Actively assess the local market, paying attention to customer needs, competition and trends

 

• Drive increasing and sustainable retail and Licensee sales and manage gross margins and pricing

 

 

and manage expenses, in consultation with Metro leadership and Licensee sales team

 

 

• Achieve all financial targets and key performance indicators established by Metro leadership

 

 

 

Merchandising/Stocking

 

 

 

 

• Demonstrate market leadership in effective product displays

 

• Manage stocking, loading and unloading processes, participating in these activities as required

 

• In consultation with Metro leadership, display product in organized and effective manner on the

 

 

retail floor

 

 

• Ensure store is clean, well-organized and well-maintained

 

 

 

Inventory

 

 

 

 

• Manage inventory appropriately recognizing seasonality, budget and competitive factors

 

• Recognize, understand and respond to local product trends

 

• Manage product portfolio to fulfill customer needs, drive sales and lead the market in specialty

 

 

products

 

 

• In consultation with Metro leadership, ensure minimal, industry leading product shrinkage and

 

 

leakage

 

 

• Manage ordering and fulfillment in consultation with Metro leadership and Licensee sales team

 

• Manage inventory control and reporting

 

 

 

People

 

 

 

 

• Establish reputation as Employer of Choice

• Manage recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, and compensation

present on the retail and warehouse floor as often as possible

 

 

• Ensure all employees receive comprehensive and ongoing training and coaching

 

 

 

Advertising and Promotions

 

 

 

 

• Assess local market and determine most effective advertising and promotions

 

• Develop marketing plan in consultation with Metro leadership

 

• Manage and implement local marketing and promotions

 

 

 

Customer Service

 

 

 

 

• Manage all aspects of the store and staffing to excel in and create customer delight

 

• Ensure expert product knowledge is available in the store at all times

 

• Build a culture that fosters warm, professional and loyal relationships with our customers and

 

 

suppliers and establish reputation with suppliers as Partner of Choice

 

Regulatory Compliance and Social Responsibility

 

 

 

 

• Support and ensure employee adherence to all Metro Liquor policies and Saskatchewan Liquor

 

 

and Gaming and other government regulations and policies

 

 

• Maintain and foster a safe workplace, free of harassment, and characterized by respect,

 

 

professionalism and understanding and support for our employees and customers

 

 

• Encourage responsible drinking and deny service when appropriate, especially to minors

 

• Support our local community by working with community partners to participate in community

 

 

events and to share our success

 

 

$50,000-$65,000 annual salary based on experience.
