POSITION SUMMARY:
The Specialist, Corporate Communications will primarily be responsible for supporting the development and management of Arterra Wines Canada’s (AWC) internal communications. The role will be responsible for AWC’s intranet both as content manager and editor. They will also be responsible for the development of communications materials for various internal channels. This role is based at the Arterra Wines Canada headquarters in Mississauga and reports directly to the Director, Communications & Brand PR.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Internal Communications
The Specialist, Corporate Communications will manage the intranet site, support with internal communications initiatives, and work closely with internal stakeholders to support their communications needs. Specific responsibilities include:
- Act as content manager of AWC’s intranet site; including managing the editorial calendar, posting content daily/weekly, collaborating with various contributors and creating various forms of content (e.g. articles, photos, videos, tip sheets etc.)
- Generate content to reflect the company’s business strategy and share the stories of its people and wine brands to build internal awareness, alignment and engagement.
- Work with various functional leaders (e.g. People & Culture, Finance) to support any internal communications initiatives. Understand their objectives, audience and messaging to help build a comprehensive internal communications plan.
- Develop a strong understanding of the various internal communications channels beyond intranet e.g. (functional newsletters, yearly meetings, etc.)
- Work closely with the Director and Manager of Communications to prepare the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for employee presentations – including preparing speaking points, building Power Point presentations and coordinating event logistics.
- Help to manage the communications email inbox by triaging daily.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with internal business partners across the organization and external business partners like the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and industry associations.
External Communications
- As required, support Director or Manager of communications on strategic communications initiatives, which may include developing media lists, media monitoring, media relations and material development.
- Monitor daily news cycle and manage/measure corporate media coverage through MRP.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA degree in communications, public relations
- French language capabilities - preferred
- Three to five years experience in communications/public relations function
- Alcohol / Wine / CPG industry experience a plus
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point
- Experience with Salesforce/Orchestra system a plus
- Proven project management experience
