Thornbury Village Brewery & Cider House is where our award-winning Beers & Ciders are crafted. We have been brewing beer for over 15 years with great tasting lagers like the award-winning Thornbury Pick-up No. 26 Pilsner, Ladder Run Amber, and Dam Dark. Thornbury Cider is the top selling Ontario Craft Cider.

 

Colio also represents a range of international brands such as Bacalhoa and Alianca from Portugal, Warsteiner Brewery from Germany, Cumulus Estate Wines from Australia, Frisky Zebra from South Africa and a number of other international wine & spirit suppliers.

 

Summary

The VP of Marketing is responsible for the development and supervision of all marketing strategies for Colio Estate Wines Inc. and Thornbury Village Craft Beer & Cider (the Company). The VP will serve as the subject matter expert in all marketing-related activities and ensure that the marketing team helps drive the Company's efforts to meet profitability goals and targets.

 

They will oversee the development of goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute all of the Company’s marketing campaigns including new product launches. Their goals will also include maintaining the integrity of all of the Colio & Thornbury brands.

 

Job Duties

  • Develop, manage and execute an annual strategic marketing plan for the Company.
  • Develop and promote branding initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives, for all of the Company’s brands, within budget requirements.
  • Maximize brand value through new opportunities.
  • Ensure all products, services, and other offerings conform to brand identity.
  • Collaborate with sales, production, operations and finance personnel to prepare business forecasts.
  • Work closely with VP Sales to develop and manage channel and partner strategies and programs.
  • Provide support and tools to account managers and other sales staff that will drive sales within their areas.
  • Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to an appropriate timeline.
  • Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities
  • Work with designers, writers, editors and other creative staff to produce marketing collateral in accordance with brand messages.
  • Communicate and negotiate with promotional partners as needed for joint marketing activities.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on competitor activities; make recommendations based on findings/opportunities discovered.
  • Oversee the development, management and maintenance of all online communication vehicles.
  • Attend and prepare for management meetings.
  • Define the appropriate marketing organization for the company's maturity/size.
  • Be a role model for the company culture.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • University degree in marketing, advertising, sales, or business administration, or equivalent. M.B.A. desired
  • (10) years marketing experience in comparable industries with (5) years in a senior management position within the Beverage Alcohol Industry.
  • Working knowledge and experience of the rules and regulations of the Ontario Alcohol Industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in social media
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and co-ordinate the end-to-end development process while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage often outsourced marketing activities (PR, corporate identity system, website, etc.)
  • Experience in choosing, deploying, and using marketing and sales software applications.
  • Substantial experience working with business and industry press.
  • Capacity to assume more significant executive responsibilities over time.
