JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Summary:

 

This position will report to the National MH General Manager for Canada in tandem with Charton Hobbs Executive V. P., - based in the Charton Hobbs Montreal office. The NBD will be charged with maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the Moet Hennessy portfolio of wine and spirits and will be responsible for implementing the international brand strategies of the Maisons into effective local sales.  Responsibilities for the position include: Public Relations, social media, e-commerce, on and off premises marketing programs, with the end result to deliver annual sales and revenue objectives within defined budgets. The CHMH National Portfolio Marketing Managers will report directly to the NBD. The NBD will work closely with Regional Marketing Managers, PR Director, High Net Worth Managers, CH regional VP’s, and sales teams, to establish national objectives and budgets for assigned portfolios. The NBD will determine the necessary tools and resources required and will set best practices, monitor the results of key national programs, manage national budgets, monitor forecasts, and reporting requirements throughout the year.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

This position requires frequent evening work in addition to the normal daytime related job functions. A moderate to high level of domestic and international travel is also incumbent with this position.

 

1)    Develop the Brand Plan and marketing policies and activities:

·       Develop and enhance the relevance of overall MH marketing and planning, be accountable for the strategy and perfect execution of all brand plans to ensure market share gain and sustainable growth;

·       Integrate the global brand strategies into local marketing programs in view of achieving both short term profit goals as well as long term brand building for all brands;

·       Drive new business opportunities (e-commerce, direct to consumers) ensuring market leadership in up and coming channels;

·       Manage the overall portfolio strategy, leveraging synergies, in line with national and global strategies and objectives;

·       Study and analyze overall Canadian Wine & Spirits categories to propose recommendations about external growth opportunities for Moet Hennessy Brands;

·       Liaise and maintain strong communications and relationships with the MH Maison’s Marketing teams, to gain their confidence in our marketing strategies as the basis to to lobby and build justifications for higher investments in the Canadian market;

·       Ensure best practice standards are uniformly understood and implemented;

·       Actively involved in both national and regional annual sales and revenue forecasts and oversee budget allocations and control for all markets;

·       Development of standardized marketing and activity reports, processes and timetables, scheduling for key annual activities;

·       Lead the Digital transformation of the marketing function as well as the portfolio Marketing approach;

 

 

2)    Marketing team management:

 

Ÿ  Lead the National Brand Managers team to ensure the development and perfect execution of creative brand plans;

Ÿ  Responsible for the hiring, development and evaluation of the National Marketing Manager team. Manage external contractors as required;

  • Empower the team to maximize creativity, efficiency, pro-activity and opportunity driven behaviours;
  • Coach and develop the Marketing Teams capabilities, with a special focus on Digital Marketing;
  • Be responsible for developing a strong cohesion between the National Marketing Team, Regional Marketing Manager team and PR to implement impactful brand strategies and activities;

 

Job Requirements: 

 

·     Bachelor of Commerce degree or higher, Marketing, Business Administration majors preferred, or 5 or more years job experience directly relevant to luxury goods;

·     WSET level 2 or higher, luxury spirit and wine sales and marketing experience;

·     Solid knowledge of the sales and marketing practices and policies of the Canadian Liquor Boards;

·     Proven ability to lead, train and manage a diverse national marketing team;

·     Strong presentation and negotiating skills for diverse audiences;

·     Strong analytical, organisation and multi-tasking capabilities, able to meet tight deadlines;

·     Strong level of IT related skills, strong Office, PowerPoint and Excel knowledge and preferably a working knowledge of the CH Cellar and other reporting tools;

·     A flair for creative thinking and innovation in developing brand or customer business solutions;

·     Established Maison, trade contacts both on and off premises are a plus;

·     Valid Canadian Passport;

·     Valid Driver’s License;

·     Bilingual English/ French written and spoken preferred
