Diamond Estates (TSXV: DWS) is the third largest producer of VQA wines in Niagara, Ontario and is proud of our high-quality wines. Production is centralized in a state-of-the-art facility with a new tasting and retail store, Lakeview Wine Co. The Company also operates a sales agency division, Trajectory Beverage Partners that represents foreign and domestic beverage alcohol suppliers across Canada. The team is looking to add a member within the Retail Department for a 12 month contract role of Assistant Retail Manager.
Based in the Niagara region, near St. Catharines and reporting to the Retail Manager, the Assistant Retail Manager plays a key role in ensuring consistent hospitality to all visitors, with the ultimate goal of achieving sales, as well as participating and supporting the strategic planning process of all on and off-site events.
Role Overview:
Key Tasks:
- Actively sell alongside Retail Sales Associates in order to achieve/exceed retail sales objectives, wine tours, special tastings, non-wine target goals.
- Greet visitors with a sincere and welcoming attitude and during their stay, provide consistent, first class customer service
- Conduct winery tours and formal tastings with energy and enthusiasm
- Monitor store inventory, ensuring that the movement of all stock is being tracked accurately and that the store is always at optimum stock levels, through regular replenishment
- Planning and execution of in-store and off-site events including passport programs, specialty tastings, trade shows, etc.…
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree
- Experience in a supervisory/managerial role (2-3 years)
- Smart Serve certification is required (training provided if necessary)
- Experience working within the wine industry
- Ability to lift 30lbs (case of wine) is a requirement
Working Conditions:
- Substantial time spent at the cash counter, tasting bar, or otherwise on the "floor"
- Some travel, off-site functions & special events / tastings
- Hours of work include evenings, weekends, holidays
