Come grow with us at Two Sisters Vineyards located in the heart of wine country in beautiful Niagara-on-the-lake. Two Sisters Vineyards is an ultra-premium winery with 150 acres of vineyards. We are looking for a Harvest Cellar Hand to join our growing team!

Start date: August 2023
Reporting to: Adam Pearce – Winemaker & Emily Royal - Assistant Winemaker
Must have valid work visa.
Transportion and Accommodation is not provided.
Job Description:
· Identifying and reducing potential microbial issues – grapes, must, and bulk wine as well as assisting in monitoring the qualitative and analytical states of all wines.
· Cleaning & sanitizing equipment (presses, pumps, bins, de-stemmer/crusher, tanks, tubs), as well must be comfortable entering tanks for cleaning/skin removal
· Operating press, destemmer, barrel washer, ozone machine, pumps. Moving pumps and hoses into place to pump product.
· Ensure presentation, organization and sanitation of the cellars is always of the highest standard.
· Ensure all documentation and relevant records are completed and returned to supervisor in a timely fashion including work orders.
· Follow all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures
· Ability to prioritize and able to adapt to changing priorities
· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and willingness to work flexible hours when needed
· Forklift experience and/or forklift certification is desirable employee will be operating forklift: loading and unloading trucks with grape bins (empty and full), washing and re- stacking bins. Stacking barrels, full and empty.
During Vintage:
Ferment management (temperature control, inoculation, cap management, monitoring nutrient status, and pump overs)
· Grape processing, fermentations, pressings, racking, transfers, blending, topping, wine aging, wine treatments, bottling, barrel maintenance and sanitation.
· Working outside (cold, damp environment) in the grape processing area, processing grapes (includes dumping grapes into hoppers, cleaning & re-stacking bins, preparing and making additions to the grapes, presses, tanks)
We offer:
Monday to Friday weekday hours. We try to keep our schedule within these hours. Unless we are processing fruit, bottling or occasionally checking fermentations. Having a work-life balance is important to us and our staff.
Salary will be based on experience.
