Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits is the third largest producer of VQA wines in Niagara, Ontario and is proud of our high-quality, awarding winning wines. Wine production is centralized in a state-of-the-art facility located just outside of St. Catharines. With an advanced lab, an extensive barrel cellar, and over 4-million-liter tank capacity, we offer training and exposure to a wide variety of techniques, equipment and innovations practiced in our winemaking facility.
Our production team is looking for new team members in the role of Cellar Hand to support the winemakers and cellar team in the production process on a full-time basis. This role is integral to the day-to-day operation of the winery and will perform a wide range of tasks – from processing fruit, through fermentation, to finishing and bottling.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, hardworking, and dependable; most importantly, have a passion and interest in the wine making process and take pride in the product being produced.

The Role
- Harvest Processing; grape reception, destemming, crushing, pressing
- Assist with Fermentation Management, inoculations, nutrient additions, sampling, pump overs, punch downs.
- Conduct Cellar Work, barrel filling, racking, blending, additions, filtration.
- Perform Cellar Sanitation, tank and barrel cleaning, general cleaning of facility and winery equipment.
- Operate forklift and other winery equipment.
The Requirements
- Experience working in beverage production, preferably with wine (formal wine education considered an asset)
- Strong commitment to quality with high attention to detail
- Dependable, hands- on and willing to take initiative.
- Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Able to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
- Knowledge of safe cellar practices, including WHMIS
- Knowledge of cellar operating procedures.
- Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Access to reliable transportation as the property is located remotely from public transport.
