Pillitteri Estates Winery is a premium family owned winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario that produces approximately 125,000 cases each year and is the world’s largest Estate producer of Icewine and Canada’s largest Exporter of Icewine. We export to 35 countries in the world. Our focus is on, Bordeaux reds, aromatic white wines, appassimento reds and especially Icewine. Fermentation is approximately 6 months and we have one of the largest amounts of barrels (90% French oak) in cellar in Canada with 1,400 barrels. Our vineyards have been recognized in competition as being the best in Ontario with 13 varieties of grapes.
We are currently looking for hardworking seasonal employees for our 2022 Harvest Cellar team. The 2022 vintage is in 2 segments; 1) regular harvest starting early September to December and; 2) Icewine harvest starting mid/late December to February. Please state your availability for one or both segments or longer. For continuity, being available for both segments will be an asset.
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, all aspects of harvest production work and equipment operation; sanitation of tanks and equipment, ingredient additions, racking/transferring tanks, pump overs/punch downs, filling/topping and racking barrels.
The successful candidates should expect to work long hours and shift work including weekends and evenings and be able to lift 22kg. Previous cellar experience and fluent in English is required. Oenology and Viticulture students/graduates will receive preference. Lab experience, drivers licence, good communication skills and especially forklift license/experience are assets. Must be eligible to work in Canada.
