We are currently seeking qualified harvest interns for the upcoming 2018 vintage. This is a seasonal position that has a typical starting date during first week of September and ending toward the end of October/ mid-November, depending on the vintage.
As Canada’s original estate winery, Inniskillin is an industry pioneer committed to the production of premium wines made from quality grapes grown in Canada for over 35 years. Inniskillin Niagara is in Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario. We average 1,000 tons of grapes a year at our estate facility from a wide array of grape varieties. We strive to make high quality premium wines and continue to make our popular favorites.
Successful candidates will get the opportunity to work in a fast-paced cellar and on the crush platform. Be involved in all aspects of wine production and have chance to discuss all things wine with our experienced winemaking team. Responsibilities of the candidate may include grape receiving, grape processing, additions, racking, transfers, fermentation checks, inoculations, punch downs/pulse air, cleaning, barrel work and all other relevant vintage tasks. You should expect a challenging and rewarding harvest experience with a few good laughs along the way.
Job Requirements
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Some winemaking education is an asset
- Previous cellar experience not required but is an asset
- Ability to lift 22kgs (50lbs)
- Be able to work legally in Canada
- Willing to work days or afternoons, 6-7 days a week
- A valid driver’s license / own transportation
- Physically able to all jobs, reliable and works safely on all tasks.
- Passionate about wine and learning
