Strewn is a medium-size boutique winery specializing in award-winning, small lot wines that are available for tasting and purchase only at the winery.
We are looking for a wine-savvy Hospitality & Retail Manager who can manage a team to deliver professional, engaging guest experiences while meeting monthly and annual sales goals, and building relationships with referral partners. This is a management job, reporting to the DTC Marketing Director.
Qualities and Qualifications
You have proven organizational and analytical skills, understand and can execute business plans.
You have day-to-day financial management skills, including tracking budget to actual performance against key tasting room metrics e.g. visitor traffic, wine sales, data acquisition and wine club signups, and understand the inter-relationship of the metrics.
You are a team leader with strong communications skills, a hospitality and customer service focus, able to coach team members to success with an emphasis on achieving goals.
You can build strong relationships with selected community partners to generate qualified guest referrals.
You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, familiar with or have the ability to learn point of sale systems and winery CRM software (WineDirect preferred).
You are passionate, responsive and flexible, self-motivated and able to act independently to solve problems as they occur.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of three years management experience in the hospitality/wine industry with a proven ability to be an effective, innovative and enthusiastic leader
University degree or equivalent, specialized wine education such as WSET or CAPs, Smart Serve and WHMIS Certification
Flexibility in work hours including weekday, weekend, holidays and occasionally evenings
