Pillitteri Estates Winery is a premium family owned winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario that produces approximately 125,000 cases each year and is the world’s largest Estate producer of Icewine and Canada’s largest Exporter of Icewine. We export to 35 countries in the world. Our focus is on, Bordeaux reds, aromatic white wines, appassimento reds and especially Icewine.

We are currently looking for full time Laboratory Technician. This position works under the guidance of our Head Winemaker and directly reports to him.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Collect tank and barrel samples
• Perform chemical analysis on wine
• Perform instrument-based analysis on wine
• Performing bench trials for blending, fining, and additions
• Maintain accuracy and reliability of lab analysis
• Accurate preparation of standards and solutions
• Calibration and checks of laboratory equipment
• Purchasing lab supplies and stock maintenance
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Use of winemaking software (WIS)
• Accurate record keeping and Data Entry

Requirements:

·       Good attention to details

·       Strong written and communication skills

·       Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access

·       Problem solving skills

·       Adherence to health and safety procedures

·       Must have prior experience of at least two years

·       Ability to stand for a long time and be able to lift up to 50 pounds

·       Flexible scheduling. Work longer hours and weekends during harvest

·       Must be eligible to work in Canada

 

 

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18-$20 based on experience
