Konzelmann Estate Winery is one of Canada’s oldest and most respected producers of fine wines – operating as the only lakefront winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our proprietor, Herbert Konzelmann, is a fourth-generation winemaker with over 50 years of experience. Our extensive catalogue of products reflects one simple goal: to produce an excellent wine for every persons’ taste at an industry-beating value. This idea influences everything we do - from the treatment of our soil and vines, to the final winemaking process itself.

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic Retail Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to our Director of Marketing and Hospitality, the Retail Manager will be responsible to oversee all retail functions, including guest experience and tour coordination. 

Specific job duties include:

• Overseeing all retail operations and coordination of bookings and tour groups. 

• Providing insightful generation of sales while meeting and exceeding predetermined sales targets.

• Developing effective team goals and tracking incentives as part of the internal rewards program. 

• Recruitment, hiring and training of new staff, while engaging in ongoing, high-level team development.

• Developing new and dynamic guest experiences in collaboration with the Marketing team. 

• Connecting with the Director of Marketing & Hospitality to build/maintain strategic industry advantages.

• Demonstrating  Konzelmann’s mission, vision and values in an exemplary fashion to all direct reports,  guests and community partners.

• Maintaining accountability and motivation towards a superior guest experience through high-level customer service and immaculate facility presentation.  

• Effective execution of all retail staff scheduling, food service preparation and merchandizing.

Job Requirements:

• Must possess a passion for people, wine and the wine industry. 

• Must possess three to five years of guest experience management in a retail setting. 

• A college degree/diploma in hospitality, event management or a related field is preferred.

• Must be available to work weekends and holidays. 

• Ability to execute training programs on an ongoing basis. 

• Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure situations.

• Must possess a good understanding of business and accounting practices/inventory/cost controls.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Point of Sale programs.  

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail 

• Must possess superior interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
