Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

We are currently recruiting for the position of Tasting Room Associate. This is a full-time year-round position that would commence immediately. This position works closely with and reports directly to the Operations Team at Big Head Wines.

The Tasting Room Associate is instrumental in driving daily front-of-house activities and objectives at Big Head. They are focused on providing exceptional guest experiences and are passionate about wine, food, service, life.

The Tasting Room Associate thrives in a high-paced environment, has excellent time management skills, and has a keen eye for organization.

They must have open availability and an understanding that hours can be at times, irregular.

Skills and Responsibilities:

The job duties described below are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by individuals assigned to the role of Tasting Room Associate. All employees may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.

  • maintaining a clean and professional working environment
  • guiding guests through their tasting experience in a thoughtful and hospitable way
  • handling transactions
  • stocking of products and merchandise
  • maintaining a positive working environment
  • bussing & polishing glassware
  • cleaning and maintenance of the facility
  • labeling, bottling, waxing, capsulling

Qualifications:

  • Formal Wine Training, WSET preferred
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
  • Smart Serve Certified
  • Hospitality experience 2+ years

Hours of work:

Hours vary depending on business needs - predominantly a 10:00 am - 6:00 pm work day.

COVID-19 considerations:

Employees are required to wear a mask at all times.
Rapid Tests are available for employee use.
