Job Description:
We have been making wine in the area for over twenty years. We source only the best fruit from the Niagara Region, working closely with growers that share our attention to detail and pursuit of the highest quality.
We are currently recruiting for the position of Tasting Room Steward. This is a full-time year-round position that would commence immediately. This position works closely with and reports directly to the Operations Team at Big Head Wines.
The Tasting Room Steward is instrumental in driving daily front of house activities and objectives at Big Head. The Tasting Room Steward participates in all day-to-day operations of the tasting room, retail store, and shipping and fulfillment. The position of Tasting Room Steward requires frequent dialogue between management, team members and guests of the winery, while maintaining an evolving list of priorities. The Tasting Room Steward does not conduct tastings, however, guest interaction from all members of the Big Head team is integral to the overarching standard of service and atmosphere we pride ourselves in.
The Tasting Room Steward thrives in a high-paced environment, has excellent time management skills, and a keen eye for organization. The Tasting Room Steward must have an open availability, and an understanding that hours can be at times, irregular.

- Shipping & receiving
- General understanding of stock and inventory movement
- Bussing & polishing glassware
- Stocking of products and merchandise
- Cleaning and maintenance of facility
- Labelling, bottling, waxing, capsuling
- Become knowledgeable of products and processes
- Use of POS / cash handling
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Smart Serve Certified
- Hospitality experience 1+ years
Hours of work:
This is a full time, year round position. Hours vary depending on business need.
