Leaning Post Wines is a family-run, super-premium small lot winery enjoying domestic and international critical acclaim focusing primarily on single vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, with a supporting cast of Riesling, Gamay, Cab Franc and Syrah. We love working with spontaneous fermentations and making various natural wines, orange wine and Pet Nat. We are wine geeks! This is an opportunity to work with people who are passionate about crafting the best possible small-lot terroir driven wines.

 

We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to be a Harvest Cellar Hand.  This person will assist with all aspects of processing grapes and winemaking during harvest 2021. Position runs approximately from Mid-September until mid-December.  This position could lead to full-time employment for the right individual.

Responsibilities include:

- Pre-harvest field sampling

- Fermentation monitoring

- set-up and operation of crusher/destemmer, must pump, press 

- Racking, punchdowns, pump-overs, additions

- Clean and sanitize tanks, hoses and all equipment

 

The successful candidate will:

- have some experience in processing grapes and basic cellar work including barrel work, vineyard sampling, crushing, pumping-over etc.

- be able to lift 50lbs

- have a positive attitude

- be willing to work long hours when needed

- love wine!

- forklift skills a plus!

- tractor skills a plus!

 

Must have valid VISA to work in Canada

Hourly rate depending on experience
