Dream Wines is a boutique wine import agency representing some of the most famous and iconic wineries from around the world. The headquarters are based in North Vancouver, but we serve all markets in Western Canada.

The Retail Sales and Logistics Coordinator will be a cross-functional specialist for various functions within the company. The main responsibilities will be supporting our retail partners in a merchandising and up-selling role and providing support to the Director of Operations with logistics and warehousing tasks. The person in this role will also be providing timely support and information to the sales team, as well as ensuring administrative tasks are completed with excellent customer service and attention to detail. Working with Dream Wines means that you will be a part of tight-knit team, where you can have influence on company decisions, and be afforded significant independence to complete your own responsibilities. This role will also allow you to learn a great amount about the wine and alcohol industry in general within the scope of Western Canada.

Summary of Key Retail Responsibilities

  • Visiting BC Liquor Stores and Private Liquor Stores.
  1. Working with stores to ensure proper rotation of backstock to retail floor.
  2. Speaking with and up-selling to store managers, buyers, and product consultants.
  3. Applying points stickers, putting up shelf talkers, anddisplays.
  4. Maintaining proper positioning and display appearance: dust-free and correctly priced.
  5. Providing feedback and photos of displays, what competition is doing, new products etc.
  • Coordinating with Sales Team to make sure there are sufficient “touch-points” with each store.
  • Coordinating with Marketing with regards to various promotions.
  • Building and managing a database for all major private liquor stores and chains.

Summary of Key Logistics Responsibilities

  • Booking freight with appropriate logistics providers.
  • Processing BCLDB POs and Connect Logistics ASNs.
  • Registering new wines with provincial liquor boards.
  • Registering wines with various retail customers.
  • Managing product re-activations of wine with provincial liquor boards.
  • Processing product change forms and pricing changes.
  • Processing BC Winery orders and keeping track of orders.
  • Doing deliveries for our Wine Club.
  • Assisting with sample locker inventory counts.
  • Identifying issues and problem solving with various parties.
  • Ad-hoc assignments as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, and Requisites

  • Basic wine knowledge or interest in wine.
  • Experience in the wine industry and WSET certification are assets.
  • Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Mac iWork Suite or MS Office.
  • Sales experience is an asset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven team-player and collaborator.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive self-starter who can manage workload independently and prioritize effectively.
  • High attention to detail, problem solving, and logical thinking.
  • Ability to travel locally when required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19
  • Cell phone (allowance provided).
  • Laptop/Computer.
  • Valid Drivers License and Vehicle.

Important Details:

  • Business hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm. Most of the time worked will need to be during business hours, but the schedule is flexible.
  • Working remotely is an option, but office time will be necessary in the first 3 months for adequate training to take place.
  • The first and second week of each month will be spent with significant time on the road, with the third and fourth weeks being predominantly in the office.
  • There will be a gradual transition of responsibilities to allow for adequate training.
  • You will have significant influence on your workflow, provided required tasks are completed.
  • Some of the responsibilities are on hold indefinitely due to Covid-19 restrictions.  
  • Market competitive hourly wage based on experience.
