Merchandiser (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a passionate, dedicated and hardworking individual to fill our part-time Merchandiser position in Kelowna, BC.

The Role:

To provide sales support to the territory Sales Representative and ensure store level merchandising excellence in order to expand sales of Arterra Wines Canada premium wine portfolio from both a volume and market share perspective. Daily duties include, but are not limited to:

• Build and merchandise impactful product displays, features, and racks in retail accounts
• Work with store partners to ensure proper rotation of back stock to retail floor, displays and shelf
• Ensure monthly sales are passed on by retailers and tagged at shelf and display
• Apply shelf talkers, necktags and related value-added items to inventory at shelf and on display
• Apply, maintain and replace impactful branded point of sale materials in partner stores. This includes backer cards, shelf talkers, case cards, posters, price cards, fridge clings etc.
• Ensure Arterra products are appropriately shelved, and maintain this positioning on an ongoing basis
• Maintain overall product and display appearance: dust-free, correctly priced on shelf and in cooler.
• Take photos of displays, competitor’s displays, competitors on packs, new products etc.
• Maintain consistent communication with the sales representative regarding changes in buyer preferences, out of stock inventory concerns/situations encountered, market intelligence and daily call summary
• Complete other special projects as required, including but not limited to trade events, trade shows, consumer tastings, seminars, maintenance of storage unit, staff training and store set ups.

Job Requirements:

• Beverage Alcohol Industry experience and product knowledge an asset.
• WSET or ISG Certification an asset.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Results oriented, self-motivated, driven and disciplined.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proof of valid Driver’s License will be required.
• Provide your own vehicle with the proper insurance and driving record within DMV policy guidelines
• Must reside within, or in close proximity to the general area of the sales territory.
• Must be able to lift cases weighing up to 45 pounds on an ongoing, daily basis
