Sunocean Wineries and Estates Inc. DBA Church & State Wines features two distinctly different vineyard properties located in the Okanagan and on Vancouver Island. We are looking in for a full time Wine Shop Manager to manage Oliver Tasting room including all aspects of our on-site sales, wine clubs, events, business administration, hiring. licencing requirement etc.
Job Description:
- Providing leadership, support and motivation to the tasting room staff to ensure the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism
- Hosting tastings with an emphasis on closing sales and attaining club membership and for maintain the tasting room 5-star cleanliness and appearance
- Creating a memorable experience for guests including greeting and hosting the tasting room and conducting winery tours for guests
- Managing the tasting room schedule of appointments, conducting tasting room staff morning briefings, training new employees for all training manuals and scheduling proper shift breaks for all tasting room staff
- Monitoring and assisting in reordering and restocking tasting room inventory, including but not limited to wine, provisions, collateral and reporting any deficiencies to the Operation Manager
- Assisting sales with DTC shipping and fulfillment needs as assigned including but not limited to packaging shipments, payment processing, etc.
- Network with industry partners to form relationships in the surrounding South Okanagan market
Preferred qualifications/skills:
- Minimum 3 years progressive experience in wine sales and marketing including DTC sales or Wine Club management is an asset.
- WSET- 2 and above
- Must be able to work our peak times, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and some holidays.
- Must have the ability to multitask and complete duties, tasks and projects, despite interruptions.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to complete duties, tasks and projects with little or no supervision.
- Must be passionate about winning and leading a team to meet/exceed company goals.
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills in a customer/consumer service role.
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to set goals, manage projects, and see initiatives through.
