Job Responsibilities 

  • This role reports to the General Manager and the Assistant Manager.
  • Provide engaging hospitality that translates into wine sales.
  • Lead tours, tastings, and other guest experiences as assigned.
  • Describe our wines, winemaking, and history.
  • Help us meet our wine club sales targets.
  • Provide consistent brand messaging to guests.
  • Facilitate checkout experience for guests using the POS system.
  • Assist with set-up of all tastings.
  • Coordinate guest experiences using reservation management software and managing reservation inquiries and questions.
  • Assist with special events such as private dinners and others.
  • Embrace and demonstrate Valley Commons’ Core Values of authenticity, hard work, passion, fun and being respectful.
  • Ensure POS cashouts are balanced, accurate and signed at the end of the shift.
  • Setting up and cleaning up daily operations and special events, including washing and polishing all glassware
  • Representing Stoneboat Vineyards at external winery events when needed
  • Maintaining a professional work environment.
  • Working professionally as part of the team, including managing relationships with collogues, guests and stakeholders
  • Other tasks as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications

  • WSET Level 1 or higher, preferred and willing to train good candidates.
  • Wine industry experience preferred (including restaurant; sommelier experience an asset)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in providing engaging hospitality.
  • A proven communicator who is comfortable entertaining/educating groups of guests.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Experience using Wine Direct and Tock is an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse client groups of varying sizes.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

 

Pay Package

  • Pay is a combination of the following factors:

o   Hourly Rate

o   Gratuity

o   Commissions
