Responsibilities
We are a small, tight knit team and we all wear many hats. As the Accounting & Administration Assistant, you work closely with senior management and the winery team, and play a vital role in Maverick Estate Winery’s successful operations. This position is responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting functions, including AP, AR, invoicing, payroll, month-end and year-end closing, AR collections, inventory control, government filing, as well as oversee the office and admin functions.
Accounting / Bookkeeping
* Accounts Receivable – prepare / enter all sales invoices (form 60s), manager agents’ sales records (from SalesLitre), receive and post payment, follow up and collect on overdue accounts
* Accounts Payable – prepare and enter accounts payable, process payment
* Payroll – collect hours, enter and process payroll, manage employ benefits administration
* Reporting – prepare and submit BCLDB monthly reports, government reporting for payroll / sales tax / etc, month-end and year-end reporting for internal and board purposes
* Banking – monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, prepare bank deposits, control petty cash
* Collaborate with CEO for applications and reporting for various government and business development programs
Administration
* Assist management team for procurement, supplier management
* Assist Hospitality team with managing supplies and suppliers
* Assist with inventory shipment documentation, reconciliation, information management
The Other Stuff that is Also Important
* Minimum 3-year accounting and administrative experience
* Post-secondary education in a relevant field, accounting, bookkeeping, CPA is a nice-to-have.
* 3+ years experience with QuickBooks
* Experience with SaleLitre a nice-to-have
* Winery or BC alcohol industry experience in a similar role is preferred
* Good communicator, both verbal and written
* Positive attitude with a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong desire to make sure the numbers balance
* Commerce 7 or POS knowledge is an asset
