Hester Creek Estate Winery, one of British Columbia’s most iconic and respected wineries, is seeking a passionate and hard-working Cellar Hand to join our dynamic winemaking team. Nestled in the heart of the South Okanagan, we are proud to produce premium wines that reflect our 57 year-old vineyard’s rich history and unique terroir.

Position Overview:
As a Cellar Hand, you will be involved in all aspects of wine production, working closely with the Winemakers and Cellar team. This is a hands-on, physical role ideal for someone who is energetic, reliable, and excited to be part of a collaborative and quality-driven winemaking environment. We are looking for someone to start prior to September, if possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in all day-to-day cellar operations, including but not limited to:

  • Fermentation management

  • Barrel work (racking, filling, topping, cleaning)

  • Filtration, transfers, and blending

  • Additions and sanitation

  • Bottling and packaging support

• Operate equipment such as pumps, crushers, presses, and filters

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized cellar and facility

• Follow SOPs and health & safety procedures at all times

• Record data accurately and report to the Winemaker or Assistant Winemaker

Requirements:

• Previous winery or cellar experience preferred

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness

• Forklift certification and experience is an asset (training can be provided)

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn

• Flexibility to work extended hours during harvest and bottling periods

• Confined space preferred

• Permanent Canadian Resident or valid visa required

Hourly wage: $26 to $28 an hour
