Phantom Creek Estates is a highly anticipated new winery located on the famed Black Sage Bench of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, we specialize in single vineyard Bordeaux reds and Alsatian whites.  By farming our vineyards with care and precision, Phantom Creek Estates produces wines that celebrate and speak to where they are grown.  The winery’s Estate vineyards are in transition to organic and biodynamic certification.

 

We are currently searching for a Director of Marketing & Sales to join our team. This full-time, salaried position will be based in the winery on Black Sage Road in Oliver, British Columbia.

 

This position, reporting to the CEO, serves as a leader, educator, mentor and collaborator for our sales and marketing initiatives. The Director of Marketing and Sales integral role in the global marketplace makes it an exciting and engaging opportunity to network locally and internationally.

 

The essential functions for the role are:

 

Marketing Initiatives

·         Developing and executing annual marketing strategy

·         Leading strategy and directing all aspects of the marketing mix, including product positioning, data insights, pricing, packaging, portfolio mix, POS development, promotion, trade communication, product innovation, consumer advertising.

·         Responsible for all branding and packaging

·         Accountable for all social media strategy and execution

 

Media/Public Relations/Partnerships

·         Responsible for (in-conjunction with outside Agency) for PR strategy and execution

·         Development of partnerships with complimentary organizations

·         Coordinate visits of media, wine critics and trade

·         Represent PCE at on- and off-site events and trade shows

 

Direct to Consumer Sales and Marketing

·         Managing wine club and e-commerce sales and marketing initiatives and meeting forecasted sales targets

·         Developing annual and long-term wine club/e-commerce business plans and budgets

·         Developing differentiated high-end experiences for visitors to the estate.

 

Licensee and Export

·         Oversees PCE’s licensee sales in coordination with outside sales agency, ensuring communication of the PCE brand message is consistent

·         Developing annual and long-term licensee sales business plans

·         Responsible for in-market visits alongside the Winemaker to support licensee accounts

·         Managing PCE’s export sales

 

 

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Business or Marketing

·         Strong experience in marketing and brand management 5+ years

·         Minimum WSET Level 2. Prefer MW or MS

·         Demonstrated experience and skill creating marketing materials

·         Creative and detail orientated

·         Outstanding verbal and written communications skills

·         Leadership skills and the ability to drive improvement within the business

·         Excellent organizational and planning skills

·         Experience developing and adhering to a budget

·         Driven, motivated and able to take the initiative

·         Passionate about the wine industry and selling wine

·         Strong customer service orientation
