Job Posting- General manager

River Stone is a 4300 case, hands on, family owned winery that is growing with a recent acquisition new land. We are in the heart of BC’s prime wine country and focus mainly on Bordeaux style reds.  Since buying our special piece of land in 2001, planting it over the following years and opening our tasting room 10 years ago, we have established ourselves as a friendly operation producing consistently high-quality wines with DTC as our main sales channel. We need your help to grow and establish operational systems that will allow us to sustain and even improve our relationships with our land, our team, our community, and our customers.

Responsibilities:

1.      Provide financial reports and analysis to owners while recommending further courses of action as needed to drive towards fiscal goals

·        Assist with long term strategic planning and capital spending

·        Create a yearly budget - approved in consultation with the owners

·       Track the yearly budget monthly. Analyze and report variances while finding operational efficiencies

·        Inventory management and tracking

2.      Oversee Human Resource needs

·        create systems to support our employees

·        elavuate and manage staff performance

3.      Manage Sales and Marketing in all channels including channel allocation and goal setting

·        Oversee and set goals for onsite sales channels and work closely with our DTC manager

·        Oversee, manage, and set goals for offsite channels

·        Oversee the tone and cadence for all marketing campaigns and branding initiatives

Qualifications:

Interest in fine wines

Experience managing a business for a minimum of 5 years

Strong financial analysis background a must

Strong background in managing people a must

Sales and Marketing experience is a plus

A degree in business, finance, HR or Marketing a plus

Knowledge of the wine industry a plus
