Bartier Bros Vineyard & Winery is a family-owned and operated winery located on the Black Sage Bench in Oliver, BC. We produce exceptional wines that showcase the terroir of our vineyards.
We are looking for a Hospitality Coordinator to join our team for the upcoming season. Reporting to, & taking direction from, the Marketing Manager, the Hospitality Coordinator will oversee the day-today aspects of our hospitality experience including supervision of the tasting room, & assisting with event coordination. The Hospitality Coordinator will help lead our team in providing a quality visitor experience with a focus on promoting on-site sales, our loyalty program & wine club membership growth.
The successful applicant is passionate about creating a memorable hospitality experience, leads by example, is a positive team member, and self-starter. This position requires a passion for customer service, and wine.
This position is a full-time, seasonal position from April to mid-October.
Primary Responsibilities
• Hiring of seasonal tasting room staff
• Scheduling of staff to ensure adequate staffing in the tasting room and at events
• Leading and motivating tasting room team in providing a quality experience for winery guests
• Leading and motivating tasting room team in on-site sales, & growing wine club memberships
• Ensure tasting room staff have read, and understand their job description and company policies
• Helping to create a safe environment for staff & guests
• Ensure staff time sheets are completed and handed in on time
• Responsible for training staff on the POS, reservations system, wine club signup, newsletter email signup, and guest experiences
• Key point of contact for guests and tour companies
• Actively involved in the tasting room in the sale of wine, events, and club memberships
• Communicate regularly with staff about new releases, promotions, and other winery updates
• Assist with daily shipping and quarterly wine club shipments
• Assist with the coordination and execution of on-site events
• Coordinate educational sessions for tasting room staff
• Manage daily tasting reservations and experiences
• Monitor and maintain wine shop inventory of wine, merchandise, and supplies
• Responsible for responding to tasting room email & telephone calls
• Responsible for tasting room records & reporting – samples, staff wine, daily sales, etc
Skills & Education
• Serving it Right Certification
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, and winery POS software
• WSET Level 2 or intermediate wine knowledge or equivalent (an asset)
• 2+ years in a hospitality position
• Food Safe Level 1 (an asset)
Other Requirements
• Must have a valid BC Drivers Licence
• Must be able to regularly lift 17 kgs
• Must be able to work weekends, stat holidays, and occasional evenings
• Must be able to work long for prolonged periods while standing
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions
