Family owned and operated, we are a tight knit team who create sensational, minimal intervention wines and welcoming, relaxed visitor experiences.
Responsibilities
We are a small, tight knit team and we all wear many hats. As Hospitality Manager you will partner with the CEO, hospitality team and production team to lead, develop and execute memorable visitor experiences. You will be responsible for training and leading our hospitality team, creating and executing welcoming and educational winery experiences, and fostering inclusive relationships with Maverick’s guests, customers and our local community. As the Hospitality Manager, you will create a supportive environment for our team members to succeed, create memorable guest experiences and turn curious guests into enthusiasts who become fans of Maverick Estate Winery.
Teamwork / Leadership
* Lead, coach, and motivate your team, focusing on team development and satisfaction and a memorable hospitality experience.
* Create and maintain an inclusive team environment concentrating on continuous improvement, innovation, and satisfaction. Inspire a high level of teamwork and professionalism through personal presence, excellent customer service, and support.
* Mentor, coach, educate, and motivate the team so they can achieve their potential through regular communication and training.
Guest Experience
* Develop a winery experience that provides an inclusive environment and inspires guests to become fans.
* Develop long-term relationships with our guests to foster customer loyalty and community building.
* Execute a high level of guest service by empowering the team to exceed guest expectations.
* Develop and implement creative and innovative ways to engage guests through winery visits, tours, events, and experiences.
Operations
* Schedule team hours, control labour costs and operating expenses to optimize your team’s success.
* Design, develop, budget, and execute various customer experiences and events throughout the season.
* Collaborate with DTC manager to drive wine club and DTC growth.
* Manage inventory and replenishment of wine, packaging materials, collateral, etc.
The Other Stuff that is Also Important
* 3+ years supervisory experience in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or Retail environment.
* Proven track record of leading and developing service orientated teams who provide guest experiences.
* Passion for food and wine is a must; wine education is a nice-to-have.
* Excellent communicator, both verbal and written with experience in training/presenting to teams or groups.
* Positive attitude with a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively.
* Ability to mentor and set goals to achieve exceptional team results.
* Post-secondary education in a relevant field, hospitality, marketing, or business is a nice-to-have.
* Flexible schedule, ability to work evenings and weekends.
* Valid Serving It Right Certificate.
* Ability to lift cases of wine (up to 40lbs) multiple times during a workday.
* Commerce 7 or POS experience an asset.
