Hester Creek Estate Winery has an immediate opening for a full-time accounting assistant with emphasis on payroll duties.
Our beautiful winery is in Oliver, BC and includes a vineyard, cellar, wine shop, guest villas and restaurant.
Successful applicant will be responsible for processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis for all departments for both salaried and hourly team members using an automated payroll system, and to assist with a variety of other accounting duties.
Essential Skills
· Accounting knowledge and strong interpersonal skills in dealings with both employees and third parties.
· Experienced in the use of computer programs, including Quickbooks, Payroll Software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Outstanding verbal and written communication.
· Demonstrated ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
· Knowledge of payroll best practices, payroll legislative policies, and Employment Standards Act.
· Minimum 2 – 3 years of payroll experience.
· Preference given to someone currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) Business Administration/diploma/degree program.
· Successful completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or certification an asset.
Remuneration will be negotiable based on the above skills and experience.
